With the upcoming election on October 21, there is lots of competition for councillor positions this year. There are 6 candidates on the list: Incumbents Rick Stieben and Willie Moleschi plus new faces to municipal politics: Michael Drader, Laura Papirny, Peter Doonanco and Nancy Pelletier.
The Glendon Ag Society is organizing a candidate forum on October 18 to introduce all the candidates and give Village Residents the opportunity to ask questions and see what the candidates stand for. “Voting is our right,” says organizer Sherry Skrypichayko. “To vote properly we need to understand what our candidate is going to do for us for the next four years. Our Village has some pretty serious issues going on and we need the right people in to keep this Village on track.”
The Candidate Forum will be October 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the RCMP Hall. All candidates will be allowed time limited Opening Remarks along with pre-selected questions and answers followed by audience questions. Please call Sherry at 780 812-6414 if there are any questions that you want asked but are unable to attend. Please arrive early because no admittance will be permitted after 7:30 p.m.
