For the third time, the Glendon Roughstock Rodeo proved that it doesn’t need a huge budget to put on a huge show. With attendance climbing every year, fans are taking notice of the great fun that can be had at a small town rodeo. Glendon may be small but through the hard work of Travis Aylesworth, the organizers have attracted impressive sponsors which have allowed the event to offer impressive prize money. As a result, some of the best cowboys in Canada are coming in to ride and put on an unparallelled show. These cowboys are raving over the rank stock brought out by Bar C5.
In 2012, organizers added a Rodeo Queen competition and a Chili Cook Off to the festivities. After the scores were tallied in riding and speeches, the first ever Glendon Rodeo Queen is Megan Huffman. She won a belt buckle, a saddle and the chance to go to the Calgary Stampede. And, after trying 16 chili recipes, the judges gave the nod to Bobbi Aylesworth. Ayelsworth now holds the coveted title of Best Chili at the Chili Cook Off.
The Glendon Roughstock Rodeo is sanctioned by the Professional Roughstock Corporation.
